One year. One adventure. Many new experiences. What can I say. This is crazy, I have been away from home for 1 year. I haven't seen my mom for 1 year. It has went by so quick. But so many memories. I have to start of by thanking the family that have hosted me in their home for this year and I'm forever greatful for beeing able to have this experience. I have grown so much as a person. It's hard to understand and sum up this whole experience but I guess I'm gonna try. So let's start from the beginning.
Arriving to the training school in New York with a lot of feelings and just not knowing what's waiting. Spending a few days there having classes and just talking with other people who just arrived. From the training school to the family a year of like everything started. Seeing awsome stuff in Boston and then moving down to South Carolina where I now will be departing for 1 month filled with travel.
Don't know what more to say casue I feel it's just hard to put it down in words. Keep following for my month of travel so see you around!

Just another day in my life
I'm back after a long while since my last post. I've been here for about 4 months now which is pretty crazy! Haven't been doing anything special like travel somewhere since my last post. I did however get half (3 credits) of my 6 credit study requirement fullfilled after a weekend at a nearby community college with an awsome teacher who made the weekend fly by. Hopefully will always remember how he left us with him singing karaoke, very funny and definently made my day!
Anyways this will be about a "normal" day. I wake up at 6.25 to make lunches for the kids. After that I wake the kids up (if they haven't woken up by themself). Make sure they eat breakfast, pack their bags and the girls needs to do their hair. During this time I need to make sure all problems that might pop up gets solved. Example of this could be grumpyness, lost things, and everything else. I then get them to the school bus and get some peace and quiet to eat breakfast myself.
For a couple of hours I'm home alone where I do some laundry and some other kind of chore like cleaning, neating things up (like bookshelfs), or finding missing things. I also get some time off here where I usally make sure to go work out at the gym or go for a run. Need to keep up with the practice and get those gainz!
I then get the kids from the bus, give them a snack and then play or make sure they get ready for the activites for the evening. On Fridays I also help the kids clean their rooms and the bathrooms. I then help out with getting them to and from activites or take care of the kids that don't have activites. After a evening with lots of ups and downs and a bit here and there, I'm very tired. The kids usally don't seem that tired but it's bed time and I make sure things are picked up and ready for the next day. I then usally spend some time on my laptop watching some youtube or playing a game. Then it's finally time for some sleep.
The move to South Carolina is coming closer and closer gonna be an exciting time. But for now see you later alligators!

10 Days
Been here for 10 days now and it feels great! There are a lot of new things to learn. And there are a lot of differences from home as well. One example would be the way you get around. In Sweden I could bike a lot. Here it feels like the roads aren't very friendly for bikes and is mainly for driving cars. A lot of stuff is also bigger. Like the ammount of the stuff you buy. Even just in a regular grocery store some containers look ridiculously big to me. Then there are Costco where everything is big. Even though it may seem absurd with big stuff like that it can be useful for big families as they both will save money and time on getting alot in each package.
I have been with the family now since Friday the 10th and it feels great so far. They're super nice and it feels like I get the time I need to start adapting to the routines. The 4 kids are pretty wild sometimes so there's always something going on when they're home. But I like it, you never really get bored. There are also 3 dogs but they're super cute and really cuddly. The food is similar to home so that feels good. One thing that surprises me though is how much the kids eat casue even if you think they take small portions, they just eat a lot. They also do a lot of snacking and it just feels like food disappers all the time. But hey they're growing so it's good that they eat a lot.
So last Sunday I was at a wrestling competition where the oldest kid competed. He did some great matches and in the end got 2nd place after het got beaten in a close match against a kid from the same team. It was nice watching some wrestling even if it differs from what I've been doing in Sweden. Yesterday I got my bank account setup and was at my first meeting with the other au pairs in my cluster. We got some frozen yoghurt and it was nice seeing some other au pairs. Tonight I'm gonna have a meeting with the family and LCC and I think it's gonna be great to get all things going. Hopefully I will get my gym membership fixed soon so I can start working out! Need some papers so I can get a discount.
But for now over and out!
